Christmas Cookies

Sunday, December 4, 2011

Yesterday we made Christmas cookies with Isaac and Joshua.  We did it last year with Isaac, but this year we have Josh too, so it was twice the fun.  Plus, Isaac was better able to help with the cutting out of different shapes, etc.  (A little too helpful at times, actually.....)

(And no, these are not gluten free.  :-)

The boys had SO. MUCH. FUN.  Playing in all the flour!!  I think they had more fun throwing it around than actually doing the cookies.  Anytime I left the room or turned my back they had their hands in the flour bowl.

Unfortunately, Joshua figured that if he dowsed his hands in flower and then clapped them together, a nice little "poof" of flour would follow.  Oh what fun for a three year old.  The side affects of the little trick left him looking like he had just come out of a snowstorm.  But he thought it was hilarious.  After trying to "control" the whole situation and keep everything organized, I finally gave up and figured they might as well have fun in the mess!  Oh well.  They had fun.

He's preparing to do his flour trick here!

The whole project took several hours from start to finish - I was pretty tired of sprinkles and frosting by the end of it all!

Hope you all are having a cozy December so far!

How cute! We just did this last night too, but we didn't have any little boys around to make it so messy and fun! :)
