Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is my dear Mom's birthday!! As usual, we celebrated at home and kept cozy inside from the HOWLING wind outside. A good cup of hot cocoa is definitely in order this afternoon....

Courtney and I got her a knife block, which we have been needing.

A sweet letter from David...

Poor Isaac seems to have been hit with a little flu bug, so he layed around most of the morning.

Isaac has had little bouts of the flu before, and each time it has been surprising to see how he handles it. He doesn't cry or moan; just lays there with that worried look in his eyes. I wonder who comforted him and kissed his furrowed little brow in the oprhanage when he got sick...maybe nobody did. I am so grateful he's here with us now!

We will finish off the birthday celebration this evening with a special meal, lemon meringe pie, and ice cream. (Ohhhh, and maybe a movie too!)

Happy Birthday Mom! You are truly special and I love you so much! Thank you for all the things you've done for me over the years ~ you are the best. Our joke about you being a "mother of multitudes" has finally come true; hard to believe you are the mother of SIX children now! Hope you have many many many MANY more years!!!
